The Dementia Training Company (DTC) was established in 2011 by Sarah Mould and Tim Forester Morgan. Between them, Sarah and Tim have over forty years experience of working in dementia care; in both Health, Social Care and the voluntary sector.
We offer a wide range of learning and development activities including; Accredited Dementia Awareness training, bespoke training related to all aspects of dementia care, in-house coaching and mentoring for staff,, dementia care settings audit and consultation, conference design and presentation.
We are privileged to host the ‘Voices for Change’ group of family carers of those who live or have lived with dementia as Associate Trainer/Carer Educators who work alongside DTC trainers to design and deliver our learning and development activities.
We are based in the south of England but deliver training, consultation and conference activities across the UK. Our current customers include The Salvation Army, Hampshire County Council, Southampton City Council, Hartford Care, St. John’s Charity, University Hospitals Trust Southampton and many independent residential and domiciliary care providers.
We have also delivered training in Bermuda for the charity ‘Action against Alzheimer’s and Dementia’ for three years.
Our business is founded in the belief that people affected by dementia can live well if they are supported by staff and professionals with the knowledge and skills required to enable them to do so. We believe that our person-centred approach to learning gives staff the knowledge and skills they need to flourish.
Our ‘Dementia Care Settings’ audit and consultation packages are designed to provide Services with the evidence they need to develop their practice according to current best practice in dementia care, policy and legislation and in the most cost-effective way.
