Hodmedod works directly with British farmers to source and supply a range of quality ingredients and foods. We’re particularly interested in searching out and developing production of less well-known foods, like our British-grown Quinoa, Fava Beans and “Black Badger” Carlin Peas.
We sell a growing range of British pulses and grains in quantities from 500g to one or more tonnes. Our current range includes Quinoa, Split and Whole Fava Beans, Marrowfat Peas, Carlin Peas, Whole and Split Yellow and Blue / Green Peas, Red Haricot Beans. We also have organic Split Fava Beans, Marrowfat Peas, Carlin Peas and Split Yellow / Green Peas. In 2014 we launched our first canned beans – Baked British Beans, Vaal Dhal, Fava Beans in Water – and our range of Roasted Fava Bean and Pea Snacks.
We are the British Pulse and Grain pioneers who work with UK farms to supply a range of top-quality ingredients and delicious foods. We’re particularly interested in searching out less well-known foods and trialling new UK grown crops like Quinoa.
Hodmedod is a small but growing independent business, founded in 2012 to source and supply beans and other products from British farms.

We offer a wide range of British beans and peas, as well as some of the first British-grown quinoa. As well as our dried beans, peas and quinoa for cooking we have a growing range of ready-to-use canned beans and peas. We also roast beans and peas to create very moreish ready-to-eat snacks.
Nick Saltmarsh, Josiah Meldrum and William Hudson founded Hodmedod in 2012 in order to bring fava beans and other British crops to a wider UK market. We share a belief in good, sustainable and local food, and have worked together on sustainable and local food projects over many years through our partnership Provenance and for the regional NGO East Anglia Food Link.
